Last night I held one of my Christmas card and tag classes...boy will you ladies be excited to have that all done in a couple months :)

I came across this adorable pyramid card on my travels here and did a few adjustments and using Close to my Heart's exclusive Art Philosophy cricut cartridge as well as the new Artiste cartridge I came up with my version below.

So stinkin' cute!!!

Can not wait to make more of this little guy! :) He just makes me smile!

Combining passions...

So I have been playing with my newest hobby - metal stamping - quite a bit (see my metal pieces at taylordmetals@blogspot.ca) and decided to combine it with my love of paper crafting.

I have had a sneak peek of it and let me just say it is AMAZING!!!!  Can you believe they have come out with another Cricut Cartridge??? Eeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! So excited! I had wanted to post this card much earlier but you know how life has a way of getting away from you! :) Also, it was a mother's day card for my mother in law and didn't want her to see it on the blog before she got it in person :)

This card was made using the Stamp of the Month from May - so pretty!

I love using my re-inkers to create unique looks and the great thing about the clear stamps from Close to My Heart is you can use the front of them as well as the back side! So many options!

Lucy Workshop on the Go

Tomorrow night is the Lucy Workshop on the Go! I LOVE this kit-the stamp set (which is only available in the workshop on the go kit) is BEAUTIFUL and so versatile! Love, Love Love it!

Florentine Workshop on the Go

Tempo Dance Academy & Rhythm Dance Academy

Hello and welcome to everyone! I am a Mom of a dancer at Tempo Dance - my daughter has danced there since she was about 5 years old and loves it! I wanted to help with the fundraising this year and show some great craft ideas for the beginner to the advanced! I am an independent consultant for Close to My Heart and host scrapbooking and card making classes. I have come up with three options for the fundraiser. If you want to purchase a Scrapbook or Card kit for $20 you will receive this fabulous stamp set to keep and all the paper and embellishments needed to make your project! Dancing is like...

So I am really enjoying making this metal stamped jewelry! It is just too much fun! My husband is right on board and so helpful which is great! For Valentine's day I made a couple more of the keychains - had an order for these for a friend of mine to give to her family with her special message on them. I think these keychains have so many possibilities!

I made our daughter a necklace for Valentine's day. She LOVES to dance so I used the saying "Dancing is like dreaming with your feet" and then hung a music note and peace sign on it. She loves it! Had a hard time wrestling it away from her to get the picture!

Metal stamped jewelry

I have been very intrigued by the metal stamped jewelry ever since I went to New Year just over a year ago with a girlfriend. We saw some beautiful jewelry that happened to find it's way into my suitcase...in fact...I do believe I came home with almost one of everything :) That was gorgeous and I loved the idea of giving a gift with a message attached for the recipient. With that in mind I have been looking at metal stamping for a while now and thought I would give it a go. I have been playing around this weekend and I made my husband his valentine gift. It was inspired by my beloved Pinterest...absolutely loved this idea and had to give it a go. There are 4 pennies on this keychain. One for the year he was born (coincidentally that happens to be the same year as I was born...double whammy!), the year we met, the year we got married and the year our daughter was born. Then I handstamped the words "Rockin Years" on the back piece as that was our wedding song. I hope he loves it as much as I do!

I also made this necklace with the phrase "Life is a Song" on the larger ring and on the inner ring it says "Love is the lyrics"

Elemental Workshop on the Go - tomorrow night

The Elemental Workshop on the go is the last kit we will be doing from the Autumn/Winter 2011 catalog...sad because there were some great kits in there...but on to 2012 after this! The Workshop on the Go is a very affordable kit that includes the supplies to do at the minimum a double page layout which is included when you purchase the kit - plus, normally there is enough supplies to do another one or two layouts or a couple of cards. You also get to keep the stamp set that comes with it! You can't beat that!

Spring/Summer 2012 catalog available

I have been very busy with the open house launch of the new catalog and playing with all the goodies! I have sent in our first order from the catalog so some ladies have new product on it's way :) This is a card that I made using the new Florentine papers which are GORGEOUS! In fact I am so in love with it that I will be doing this kit first as the Workshop on the Go class!

Calendar Club for the 2013 Calendar

Well the 2012 calendar was completed in November and I would say the ladies that participated are very happy with their creations (you can see full pictures of this calendar posted on this blog) We're going to start the 2013 calendar in February meeting on the fourth Monday of every month until November. That way the calendar is done and ready to give as a Christmas gift! Although...I do believe the 2012 calendars are hanging up on the walls of the ladies who made them :) You may want to make two to have one to give away :) The cost of this calendar is $50 for the first calendar and $40 for each additional. Wedding invites

My fantastic hairdresser (she really is the best!) Katherine asked me to do her wedding invitations! I was honored to be asked to share in her special day! They are having an Irish wedding and using yellow and green as their colors. I was very aware of the fact that I needed to keep the embellishments off and the invitations simple so as to not cost extra postage...that can really add up when you are sending 100 invitations in the mail! This is what I came up with and she loves it...I believe the groom was asked for his opinion as well :)

Happy 2012!!

Well I don't know about you but this last month has flown by at warp speed! I always get a lot of teasing about how early I like to start Christmas preparations but I find if I do not keep on top of it throughout the year (which unfortunately I did not in 2011!) I am always scrambling at the last minute! I take great pleasure in making gifts, tags, crackers, etc to share with my friends and family and it is one of my favorite things to do. So one of my upcoming monthly clubs is going to be for Christmas cards and tags. Each month we will meet and make 5 christmas cards and 10 tags. This club will run for 11 months and we be held on the 3rd Monday of every month at 6:30pm. I will be charging $40 which is to be pre-paid by the first meeting which will be Monday January 16th. This fee will include your supplies for each month excluding adhesive. How nice will it be to have all of your christmas cards and tags ready to go in November! I know I will be doing a happy dance! :) This month there is a great promotion running until January 31st, 2012.
